Morning Star
The lingering thoughts I can’t elude
Are there sentiments that still intrude?
Silhouette of morning light
Cascade before my very sight
Ash to ashes, by hope of love
To soar across the heavens above
Sing it by the sound of song
Hush little darling sing along
Swoon me not in mischief’s words
Soul expanse the passage heard
Subtle as the finest thread
Bound are thoughts within my head
Praise you’ll be thy morning star
To wish upon and yet so far
Gypsy dance beside the echoed chant
And there are times I must relent
Serpent coils among the spoils
For here we stand on golden soil
Etched upon the ebony stone
Alas four words were not alone
