Ode To Thee
As daylight fades beneath the grey
Ode to thee o summers day
Besieged by darkness the day surrenders
To the land of gentle slumber
Where I now wait and wonder
Beside the sound of distant thunder
Among the stars that burn so bright
That dance upon the evening tide
Upon the eve of my twilight
As raindrops fall from cloudy skies
Beneath the void of an endless well
Upon the sea an alluring swell
No foreign words for me to spill
Beneath the seam an endless trill
Tremendous waves that pound the shore
Swept away forever more
Burdened by the oceans plight
No longer will they see the light
Beneath the stars that shine this night
