Orbiting In Silence
As the planets orbit around a yellow sun
In the darkness the first to come
Mercury a world of rock and molten lava flows
Venus peers through on the horizon a world
Clouds and molten rock an atmosphere of gases & dust
Then the beauty of our world the earth
So rich and teaming full of life
Mars so red the barren child
To sit and rest to wait a while
Gentle slumber amidst the cool twilight
Jupiter sits the sleeping giant a world of gas & ice
With moons orbiting slowly in the still of the night
Saturn with rings of natural wonder
Echoes sound of fallen thunder beneath the storm
Across the surface no life to ponder
Even in this land of wonder
Uranus waits like no other, beneath the clouds
Of ice and water Moons, orbiting in the night
Companions to this wonderers sight
While Neptune and Pluto hide from sight
