Sediment, The Tidal Sands

Sediment settled over shifting sands as grains of sand pass through my hands where the pier beckons to the white wash call while I listen to the oceans roar among the squall

Sediment, The Tidal Sands

New Brighton breach, Christchurch New Zealand

Sediment settled over shifting sands
As grains of sand pass through my hands
Where the pier beckons to the white wash call
While I listen to the oceans roar among the squall

Driftwood nestled in the sands
With scattered shells from distant lands

Gulls would gather on the wind
Beside the sea along the rim
Where footprints marked the oceans path
Left behind within its aftermath

Scattered seaweed rest beneath the light
Bastion of her oceans might
Rustic were the rolling plains
Across the void of wind swept veins

As cloudy skies drift overhead
While the ocean sounded within its tread
Sediment, the tidal sands
Were carried forth to distant lands

Where shell fragments littered shores
Beside the oceans, echoed roars
