Solemn And Seldom Foretold
Solemn and seldom foretold
Are the stories of the day of old
No parchment paper written in blood
Could have prepared me, for the flood
In one verse the passage read
And there were thoughts within my head
As I read about the fellow clans
I felt the tremors in my hands
Therein and there in part
I felt the passage of my heart
One lover leaped the leap of faith
And there was a reminder her wraith
While another's saddened with devotion
Hearts are like an endless ocean
And we are vessels of pure emotion
To have said and to say forth with
By faint of hand and fueled with heart
Just like the tears in heaven part
Solemn and seldom foretold
For there is beauty in the cold
And so it read, there it sold
Beside the fables of the old
