Throughout The Ages
Throughout the ages
I have watched the plight of countless sages
Battle for the maiden fair
Only to lose their lives within her lair
Like the rose that withers and dies
A corpse shall fade but never cry
For what foul bone mends the broken heart
And still the tears, just seem to part
For once I was young and nimble
And now it seem I’m imprisoned within the thimble
Beneath the seal of heavens gate
What light shines beyond the break?
That burdens me to live this faith
Within the tainted breath that I now take
It’s not to late for goodness sack
Take thy hand; I’ll lead you out
There is no need to scream and shout
