Wayward Brothers

Wayward be the thoughts I shed beside the window in my bed listening in the silent hours to the pain of fallen showers

Wayward Brothers

Wayward be the thoughts I shed
Beside the window in my bed
Listening in the silent hours
To the pain of fallen showers

My thoughts are troubled in the night
Beneath the cherished stars that burn so bright

Two lights to linger in loneliness
If there was a thought, if only
The world is troubled and there's doubt
To hear the thunder in its shout

To linger here within my thoughts
Challenging all the things I'm taught
Heart beat gentle twice as sweet
To cherish life and all its treats

The war that plagues me in the night
Fuels the feeling in my sight
For we are lost beneath the covers
And we are twain my wayward brothers

Hear the alarm my wayward brothers
My thoughts are there for all the others
One hand in hope and with a notion
We are bound by an endless ocean
