Withered By The Years

Withered by the years, the tears have flowed
Through the hardships that I have endured
And yet the essence of my heart has survived
As I have moved throughout my life

Have I been burdened with the thoughts of my limitations
As I have held my head with hope
Through the sands of time
My heart has weathered the mightiest of storms

Have I been torn by the tears of much regret
That I have felt throughout my years
Am I humbled by the whispers of my soul
As I look upon the mirror of my life
Is the light of my heart breaking
The reasons for my reflections

As I remember all that I have endured in my life
Am I open to the feelings
That dwells deep within my heart
As I remember the journey of my life
