Am I A Shadow
Time will tell if I depart this darkness
As the medicine enters into me
See the affects it has on me
Slowly as light enters into my darkness
Funny how the tears don’t fall through my eyes
Even if I’m saddened in my heart
Torn by distant fears that tear me apart
Teardrops weep within my heart
Silent eve and celestial night
Hidden beneath the urban light
An ounce of pain a sense of fear
Will my essence disappear?
I will as I’ve lost myself
Am I a shadow cast by someone else?
My heart rhythmic as I weep
With insomnia how can I sleep?
Thrown upon the moors of my depression
Is there life beyond this lesson
Weeping tears and tired eyes
Does anyone sense the pain and sighs?
My heart seems so hallow
Even if the medicine makes me mellow
Once I lived among a smiling face
Now I frown and live upon my own disgrace
