Among The Beggars And The Kings
Frozen waste land in the night
Hidden from my very sight
Sombre thoughts are said its true
Alas I know my time is due
No more shall I fear the cold
Even when I'm tired and old
For I am rhythm like the drum
Pound beneath my tired thumbs
To see the halo around my head
And know it glistens earthly treads
Walked a man with hidden wings
Among the beggars and the kings
Worldly was his spoken tongue
Among the hue and then they come
Fools besieged him in the clay
Before the light of breaking day
Once a halo light and strong
Hymned the tone which played along
And there were feathers cast around
That fell upon hallowed ground| Poetry 1 | Poetry 2 | Poetry 3 | Poetry 4 || Poetry 5 | Poetry 6 | Poetry 7 | Poetry 8 |
