Harlequin
Lucid in this labyrinth of fears
Maroon among this river swept with tears
Ravenous beauty thy skin is bound
Upon this place on hallowed ground
Quarrelsome are my thoughts inside
As I look towards the southern skies
Sensational as it was and is
There is life among the cliffs
Sneer not nor belittle me so
Splendour gathers when you are near
Sodden are the shoes upon my toes
No longer shall, I shed my woes
Thenceforth on sombre ground
To clutch my fist and knuckle down
Thorns among the transformed sky
Truly answer questions why
Unnecessarily my thoughts provoke
And life surrenders before the yoke
Undeniably life is fate
Heaven swept, before my plate
