Passage

I have known such pleasure
And I have lived, a life of leisure
Fallen from the heavens above
My heart has known such loves

Her smile has lit the way
To brighten the dawn of the day
Her warmth comforts, me in pain
Shadows cast among the rain

Rose petals, lingering art
Cherished bead within my heart
Canvas pale among the hue
Midnight canvas painted blue

Etched among the flower beds
Poppies bloom with coloured heads
Shadows cast upon the ground
Border grey and bottle brown

Whispering winds, the light wherein
To mark the passage of my kin
Footprints in the grains of sand
Passage etched upon my hands
